Attention, single people. Even if you're not looking for love, Cupid's arrows might strike in an unlikely place at an unlikely time. So, for example, if you are celebrating a work anniversary at Dartmouth, you might want to consider attending the annual employee anniversary and service awards meal held at the end of each year in the Class of 1953 Commons.

Looking around the Class of 1953 Commons this term, not much has changed. Bake My Day still has baked goods, the salad station still has salads and the soup station still has, well, soup. However, upon my arrival to campus, I could not stop hearing about a change to what is perhaps the biggest staple of college dining — chicken nuggets. And after I had the opportunity to try them, I immediately understood what all of the excitement was about.

The days of inevitably and routinely finding yourself at the mercy of Domino's delivery after a night out, of eating an assortment of snacks for dinner if you dared to wait until 9 p.m. to eat on a weekend, are over.

Five Nights at Foco Late Night

- The Dartmouth

Foco

Foco

Freshman year, I used to trek, maskless, from the Choates to Collis almost every night between 9 p.m. and 12 a.m. until I was on a first-name basis with the late night smoothie makers. I discovered that the cheddar and sour cream Ruffles were practically a panacea, curing everything from midterm blues to insomnia. On "on" nights, Collis was the unofficial destination for end-of-night reconnaissance ("Where did you end up?" "Is that glitter?") before Dartmouth's loudest tucked themselves in with mac and cheese bites — the only thing God and Satan have ever agreed upon.

Navigating how to feed yourself is a common worry among many freshman college students. Not only do freshmen have to learn how to fit eating into a newly unregulated schedule, they might feel uncertain about the type and quality of food available on campus. While this worry is common, it is, for the most part, unfounded. For the size of Dartmouth's campus, there is actually quite the selection of food. In fact, Niche.com ranks the College's food in the top 10% of U.S. universities. This comprehensive guide to Dartmouth Dining Services will hopefully serve as an introduction for the Class of 2025 on where to find the best grub on campus.
